Story: Italian Eurodinner recipe|

There are hundreds of recipes for cooking pasta in Italy, but the one described here, that was served for Eurodinner, is typical from Sardinia, as many Italian participant in the youth exchange were Sardinians.
- 400g gnocchi Sardi (a special kind of pasta from Sardinia)
- Half a litter peeled tomatoes
- Half an onion
- A leaf of laurel
- Olive oil
- Parmiggiano (Italian grated cheese)
Boil a large amount of water in a big pan. Prepare a frying pan with the olive oil and cut the onion into thin slices. Fry the onion on it. When itís ready add the tomatoes, the basil and the laurel.
Let it boil gently for about 20 minutes, then put salt and gnocchi into the boiling water. Let it cook for 8 minutes, strain the gnocchi, add the sauce on it and eventually sprinkle parmiggiano on it.
